Short and simple
- BestMCServerList is a free list of Minecraft servers. It is run by Niklas Bergmann, a private individual.
- You can vote without an account, once per server every 24 hours. No cheating: no bots, no second names, no bought votes.
- You can add a server with an account, from the age of 16, or at 13 to 15 with your parents' permission.
- Only add servers that belong to you or that you are responsible for. Only upload pictures you are allowed to use.
- Not allowed are, among other things, gambling with real money, adult content, hate and incitement, scams and malware.
- If a listing breaks the rules, we can hide it, delete it or remove votes. We will tell you why, and you can object.
- If you see something that is not allowed, report it using the "Report" button.
- The servers themselves are the responsibility of their owners, not us.
Everything is explained in detail below. The detailed text is what counts.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
1.1 BestMCServerList (hereinafter "the site") is run by Niklas Mario Bergmann, Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Straße 14, 17235 Neustrelitz ("we"). Contact: kontakt@bestmcserverlist.net.
1.2 These terms apply to the use of the site: visiting, voting, reporting, the user account and server listings. Our Privacy Policy also applies to how your data is handled.
1.3 The site is an independent directory. It is not an official Minecraft service and is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.
1.4 Use is free of charge. There are currently no paid services. If we offer any later, separate terms will apply to them, which we will inform you about in advance.
2. What the site offers
2.1 We show a list of Minecraft servers with information entered by their owners and with status information that we query automatically (reachable, version, player count).
2.2 Origin of the listings. Most listings come from the server owners themselves. We added some well-known servers ourselves based on publicly available information, so that the list is useful from the start. These listings are marked on the site as "not added by the owner". The owner of such a server can take over the listing or request its deletion (clause 5.6).
2.3 We explain how the order of the list is determined on the page How the ranking works. It forms part of these terms.
2.4 We try to keep the site running without disruption, but we do not owe any particular availability. We may change, restrict or discontinue features if there is a legitimate reason to do so.
3. Voting
3.1 Anyone can vote without an account. One vote every 24 hours is allowed per server, per Minecraft name and per internet connection.
3.2 Only enter your own Minecraft name.
3.3 Any manipulation is prohibited, in particular:
- automated votes (bots, scripts),
- getting around the 24-hour rule, for example via VPNs, proxies or other people's names,
- buying, selling or trading votes,
- rewards in real money or anything of monetary value for votes.
3.4 Honest note: We do not check whether someone who votes for a server has actually played there. Many servers reward votes in the game. The rewards are given solely by the respective server, not by us. Votes are therefore a sign of activity and not a judgement of quality. What we do against manipulation is described on the ranking page.
3.5 If we detect manipulation, we can refuse to count the affected votes or remove them afterwards, and take measures under clause 7 against the listings involved.
3.6 When you vote, we send your Minecraft name to the server if it has set up a Votifier connection or our plugin. Whether you get a reward, and which one, is decided solely by the server. Any claims to rewards are against the server owner only.
4. User account
4.1 You need an account to add and manage servers.
4.2 Minimum age: Anyone aged at least 16 may create an account. At 13 to 15, an account is only allowed with the permission of your parents or legal guardians. No account is allowed under the age of 13. When registering, you confirm that these requirements are met.
4.3 Provide truthful information when registering and keep your email address up to date. Keep your password secret. You are responsible for everything that happens via your account, to the extent that you are at fault.
4.4 One account per person. Accounts may not be sold or passed on. Anyone who uses multiple accounts to get around the rules is in breach of these terms.
4.5 You can delete your account yourself at any time. This ends the usage agreement.
5. Server listings
5.1 Only add servers that you run or that the owner has authorised you to manage. A server can only be listed once.
5.2 Your information must be accurate and must not be misleading. This applies in particular to the address, version, game modes, language and description. Anyone who promises rewards for votes must actually give them.
5.3 We review new listings and changes to the server address before they appear publicly. There is no right to approval. However, we approve every listing that complies with these terms.
5.4 Rights to content: Only upload texts, logos and banners for which you hold the necessary rights and which do not infringe the rights of third parties, such as copyright, trademark or personality rights. You grant us the simple (non-exclusive), free-of-charge right, limited to the duration of the listing, to display this content on the site, in preview images for shared links and in embeddable status graphics, and to adapt it technically for this purpose, for example by shrinking or cropping it. We do not acquire any other rights.
5.5 Your obligations as a server owner when receiving votes: If you receive votes via Votifier or plugin, you receive the Minecraft names of the voters. You are yourself the controller under data protection law for any further processing of them. You may only use the names to give rewards and to evaluate votes. You must comply with data protection laws, in particular by informing players about your processing. Rewards must comply with Mojang's rules (Minecraft EULA and Usage Guidelines). You may not promise anything in real money in return for votes.
5.6 Taking over or deleting listings created by us: If a server that we added (clause 2.2) belongs to you, you can prove that you run it via "This is my server". The proof works with a code that you temporarily put into your server's description (MOTD). After that, you manage the listing yourself. Alternatively, you can request that we delete it. We will then delete it without undue delay.
5.7 Inactive listings whose servers have been unreachable for more than 14 days are hidden from the list until the server is reachable again.
6. Prohibited content and servers
6.1 No unlawful content may be published on the site. In addition, the following are prohibited regardless of whether they are lawful:
a) servers or content unsuitable for children and young people, in particular pornographic, sexual, extremely violent or content harmful to minors;
b) gambling with real money or winnings of monetary value, including via "crates" or loot boxes that can be bought for real money and traded for real money;
c) hate, incitement, discrimination, extremist or anti-constitutional content and symbols, glorification of violence, bullying;
d) fraud and deception, for example fake player counts, fake reward promises, phishing, selling stolen accounts;
e) malware, links to cheats or hacks for other servers, calls for attacks (DDoS);
f) infringement of third-party rights, for example other people's logos, trademarks or texts without permission, or publishing other people's personal data;
g) advertising for third-party offers unrelated to the server, and spam;
h) servers whose monetisation breaks Mojang's rules, for example pay-to-win in a form prohibited by the Minecraft EULA.
6.2 Any disruption of the site is also prohibited, for example attacks, mass automated retrieval of data without our permission, circumventing security measures and abusive reports.
7. Moderation: how we enforce the rules
7.1 How we review. A human reviews new listings before they are approved. After that, we review listings when there is a reason to, mainly after reports. Only the following happens automatically:
- Votes that break the 24-hour rule are not counted.
- Unreachable servers are hidden after 14 days (clause 5.7).
- Duplicate reports are merged.
All other decisions are made by a human.
7.2 Possible measures. In the event of a breach, we can act in a graduated and proportionate manner. We take into account how serious the breach is, whether it was repeated and whether it was intentional. Possible measures are:
- a request to correct something,
- removal of individual content, for example a banner or text,
- deduction of votes or ranking points,
- temporarily hiding the listing,
- deleting the listing,
- temporary or permanent suspension of the account.
7.3 Misuse. Anyone who repeatedly posts manifestly unlawful content will be suspended for a reasonable period after a prior warning. If someone repeatedly submits manifestly unfounded reports, we will, after a prior warning, stop processing their reports for a reasonable period.
7.4 Statement of reasons. If we remove, hide or demote in the ranking a listing or content, remove votes or suspend your account, we will inform you by email with a statement of reasons. The statement includes:
- what measure we have taken and how long it applies,
- what facts we are relying on and whether there was a report,
- whether automated means played a role,
- which rule or law was breached,
- how you can challenge the decision.
This does not apply if we are not legally permitted to do so, for example on the order of an authority, or in the case of mass spam.
7.5 Objection. You can object to any moderation decision, including the rejection of a report, within 6 months by replying to our email or by writing to kontakt@bestmcserverlist.net. A human who, where possible, was not involved in the first decision reviews the case again. You will receive a reasoned reply. You always remain free to go to court.
8. Reporting unlawful content
8.1 Anyone can report content to us that they consider unlawful or in breach of the rules: via "Report" on the server page or via Report content. Please provide:
- where the content can be found (link),
- why it is unlawful or breaks the rules,
- your name and email address,
- confirmation that your information is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
Name and email are optional for reports concerning depictions of child sexual abuse. Without an email address we cannot get back to you.
8.2 We confirm receipt without undue delay, review the report promptly, carefully and objectively, and tell you our decision if you have provided an email address.
9. Liability
9.1 The owners of the listed servers are solely responsible for those servers, their content, rewards and operation. We do not adopt server owners' content as our own. As a rule, we only learn about unlawful content through reports. We then act without undue delay.
9.2 We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Produkthaftungsgesetz (German Product Liability Act). Since we offer the site free of charge, we are not liable for slight negligence.
9.3 If you post content that infringes the rights of third parties and claims are made against us as a result, you must compensate us for the resulting damage, to the extent that you are at fault for the infringement. This also includes reasonable costs of legal defence.
10. Term, termination, changes
10.1 The usage agreement runs for an indefinite period. You can end it at any time by deleting your account. We can terminate it by email with 30 days' notice, or without notice for good cause, for example in the case of serious or repeated breaches. We will give you reasons for any termination.
10.2 We can change these terms if there is a legitimate reason, for example new features, changes in the law or cases of misuse. We announce changes to account holders by email at least 15 days in advance. Anyone who does not agree can delete their account before the changes take effect. Changes that fundamentally alter the balance between service and consideration only apply with your express consent.
11. Final provisions
11.1 German law applies. If you are a consumer and your habitual residence is in another country, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
11.2 If any provision is invalid, the rest remains valid.
11.3 These terms are available in German and English. In case of conflict, the German version prevails.
