Privacy policy

Version 2026-10-08

This notice explains how personal data is processed under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Controller

The controller is named in the imprint. You can reach us at minepulla@gmail.com.

2. Data we process

  • Account: email address, username, a password hash, the time of sign-up and of the last login, and the terms and privacy versions you accepted, with the time.
  • Voting: the Minecraft name, the server voted for and the time. To enforce one vote per day we derive a one-way hash from your IP address and the date. The IP address itself is not stored.
  • Server listings: the fields an owner submits, including Votifier settings and the server address.
  • Status checks: every few minutes we ask each listed server whether it is online and how many players are connected. These samples belong to the server, not to a person.
  • Messages: account and server notices by email, for example when a server was set to inactive.
  • Technical: server logs needed to run the site and investigate abuse.

3. Forwarding a vote to a game server

If the owner enabled Votifier, a counted vote sends the Minecraft name, the voter IP address, and the time to that owner’s Minecraft server so the server can grant an in-game reward. Until the notice is delivered, or given up after at most 24 hours, the address waits in a delivery queue so a failed delivery can be repeated. It is deleted as soon as the job ends. That server is a separate controller for what it does with the notice afterwards.

4. Legal basis

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: your account and the listing you asked for.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: the public ranking, the daily vote limit, status checks and abuse prevention.
  • Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR: keeping proof of deletion requests and of your acceptance of these texts.

5. How long we keep data

  • The IP hash of a vote is removed the day after the vote. The Minecraft name and the time stay, because they are the ranking record. Glow events keep only the reason, the points and a reference to that vote.
  • Account data stays until you delete the account.
  • Status samples are kept for 30 days.
  • Login history kept by the auth service is removed after 90 days.
  • Sent notices are removed after 90 days.
  • The log of reward deliveries (time, result, error) is kept for 30 days. It contains the Minecraft name but no IP address.
  • Closed reports are removed after 12 months.
  • A completed deletion request stays for three years as proof, without your name or email.
  • Listings that were deleted stay as hidden entries without owner, contact data or keys, so the address cannot be taken over by someone else.

6. Browser storage and cookies

We set no advertising or analytics cookies. Signing in stores a session token in your browser. If you tick “Keep me signed in” it is kept in local storage for up to 30 days of inactivity (at most 90 days). Otherwise it lives in session storage and ends when you close the tab or after 12 hours without activity. This storage is technically necessary to provide the login you request (§ 25(2) TDDDG), so no consent banner is needed.

7. Who receives data

The site runs on a server we operate. The hosting provider acts as our processor. We use no third-party analytics, advertising, captcha or font services. Votifier recipients are described in section 3. Admins can see account and listing data needed to run the service.

Player heads. To show a player’s own Minecraft skin next to a vote, on the vote page or in Banner Studio, our server looks the Minecraft name up at Mojang (Mojang AB / Microsoft) and loads the skin image. Only the Minecraft name leaves our server, never your IP address, because the request comes from us and not from your browser. We keep the skin for up to six hours to avoid repeated lookups. Names without their own skin get a generated head instead. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, showing recognisable player heads.

Player profiles. Every Minecraft name that voted has a public page at /player/<name> with the number of votes, voting streaks, a calendar of voting days and the servers voted for most. It is built from the vote records described above and shows days only, never times. Anyone can type any name when voting, so a profile shows votes cast under a name, not proof of who cast them. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, a public and motivating vote record. You can object at any time: write to us and we hide the profile.

Owner statistics, news and Discord. Owners see statistics for their own server, including the Minecraft names that voted most this month. News that owners post are public on their server page and the home page. If an owner connects a Discord webhook, each vote for that server sends the Minecraft name and the server's vote count to that Discord channel (Discord Inc., USA; the owner decides on and is responsible for the channel).

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and to withdraw consent at any time.

  • Access and portability: download your data as JSON on your account page.
  • Rectification: change username, email and password on the account page.
  • Erasure: request it on the account page. An administrator confirms it, within one month at the latest. Your account and personal data are then erased and your listings are anonymised.
  • Objection to optional emails: switch them off on the account page.

You can also write to minepulla@gmail.com. You may complain to a data protection authority, for example the one of your country of residence or the authority responsible for the controller in Germany.

9. Visitors outside the EU

The same rights and retention periods apply to everyone, wherever you live. This includes the rights under the UK GDPR, the Brazilian LGPD, the Canadian PIPEDA and the California CCPA/CPRA (to know, delete, correct and opt out). We do not sell or share personal information for advertising and we do not make automated decisions with legal effects. Use the contacts above to exercise your rights.

10. Age

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Voting needs no account.

11. Reports

The report button on a server page stores the reason (offline server, wrong IP, or offensive content), an optional note, and a hash of the network address. The hash is only used to ignore the same report for 24 hours. The raw address is not stored.

12. Changes

If this text changes in a way that matters, you are asked to accept the new version the next time you sign in.
