Minecraft Server Status Checker

Is a server online? Enter its address and see players, version, ping, MOTD and icon, for Java and Bedrock.

How the check works

  1. Type the address you use in Minecraft, for example play.example.net or play.example.net:25566.
  2. Our server asks the Minecraft server for its status, like the multiplayer list does. For Java it follows SRV records; Bedrock is asked on UDP port 19132 or the port you typed.
  3. You see the entry as it looks in the game, plus the facts behind it. If the server does not answer, the page explains the most likely reasons.

The address you check is sent to our server, which contacts the Minecraft server. Results are kept for one minute and not stored after that. Privacy policy

Frequently asked questions

Why does my server show as offline?

Most often the port is closed in the firewall or router, the server is still starting, or the address points to the wrong machine. Check that players outside your network can join, and that the port in the address matches server-port in server.properties.

What is an SRV record?

A DNS entry that lets players join without a port: _minecraft._tcp.play.example.net points to the real host and port. Minecraft and this checker follow it when no port is typed.

Can I check Bedrock servers?

Yes. Choose Bedrock or leave it on automatic. Bedrock uses UDP, usually port 19132. Geyser servers answer on both Java and Bedrock.

Why is the player count different from what I see in the game?

The number comes from the server itself. Some plugins change it, and networks often show the players of the whole network. The value is refreshed at most once a minute.

Is the status checker free?

Yes, free and without an account. To keep it fair for everyone there is a limit of a few checks per minute.
