Why server lists still bring players
Players who search for "survival server" or "Bedrock SMP" usually land on a server list, compare a handful of entries and join the one that looks alive and fits them. A listing puts your server into that comparison. It also gives your players a place to vote every day, which keeps your server visible.
Players use different lists, so listing on several of them is normal and helps. Start with the lists your target players use, and keep every listing up to date.
What you need before you add your server
- A public address. A domain like
play.example.comor a public IP. Addresses that only work at home (localhost,192.168.x.x) do not work for players or for the status check. - The port, if it is not the Java default
25565. For Bedrock or Geyser, the Bedrock port as well, by default19132. - A name and a short description: what players do on your server, which versions you support and which language your community speaks.
- An icon and, if you like, a banner. The free server icon maker and the Banner Studio help with both.
- Game modes, country and languages, so filters show your server to the right players.
What to check in a server list
Not every list works the same way. Before you spend time on a listing, look at a few things:
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is the basic listing free? | You should be able to test a list before you spend anything. |
| How is the order calculated? | Clear rules tell you what you can do to climb. |
| Does it support Votifier? | Vote rewards turn votes into a daily habit for your players. |
| Does it show live status? | Players trust a listing that shows players online right now. |
| Is there Bedrock support? | Crossplay servers need a place for the Bedrock address. |
How listing works on BestMCServerList
- Create an account with email or Google. Use a password only for this site.
- Add your server: name, address, port, edition, country, languages, game modes and description.
- Wait for the check. A person looks at every new server. When it is approved, you get an email and the server appears in the list.
- Set up Votifier on your Votifier page and send a test vote.
- Share your vote link and embed the status widget or the vote button on your website.
You can set up Votifier, your banner and your description while you wait for the check.
After the listing: what keeps you visible
A listing is a start, not the finish. Servers that stay visible keep three things up: an online server, a listing that is complete and honest, and players who vote. The guide to getting players puts the next steps in order, and the free tools help with MOTD, icon, ranks and menus.
